They were also great at answering questions along the way.” - Manager, Flanshaw Infant and Toddler Centre |
It was really informative in a way that it was relevant, not only to health, but our ECE curriculum.” - ECE Teacher, Flanshaw Infant and Toddler Centre I’m so glad I was able to take part in this very informative seminar. I love the patience of the organizers and how brilliantly and articulately they shared their knowledge about keeping the kids healthy. I’d highly recommend Clean Plate for workshops and should they facilitate another one, I’ll definitely attend again. After the 2-hour workshop, I am excited to explore more healthy food options for the kids.” - Maricelle Hernera, centre cook, Headstart Early Childhood Learning Centre |

Food safety and hygiene in ECE
“Under the Food Act 2014 and Food Regulations 2015 all early learning services must ensure the food they provide children as part of their service is safe and suitable. There are no specific food safety training requirements for early learning staff to attend, however, if you are operating a centre on the National Programme 2 (NP2), staff must have a good level of food safety knowledge relevant to the food provided at the service, and the ability to put into practice.” (Ministry for Primary Industries)

We cover all the requirements of NP2, including how to keep people, places and the food prepared safe and free from harmful bacteria. Includes templates for easy record keeping so all your documentation is always up-to-date. Tips on how to teach children food safety and hygiene. Relevant for all staff working in ECE.
